Amante de Sol

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."........................................................... ~Hunter S. On Cruise (Cruz) Control...

Another glorious day for a walk with George - this time, we parked at Super One Lakeside and walked the Lake Walk for 30 minutes, or to 43rd Ave E and back. Our walks are roughly 3miles every time, give or take. This time, George counted out his steps to a block, and then a half mile. 1100 to a half mile!
I just tried to keep up, and quiet (while he counted), and took pictures, of course.

Along the way we saw this bush with berries he liked. George has issues with all his deer pals eating his plants, shrubs and other greenery in his yard...  He puts on such a welcoming buffet, who can blame them? :P

Later, we saw this box marked 'Misc' at the base of a garbage can along the path.
I gingerly used my shoe to open it (George remarking how maybe one of those springy snakes would jump out when it opened - ha ha!)
It was filled with... get this... GLUE STICKS.
Someone obviously dropped it? I almost took it - to freecycle for some group doing crafts, but left it, just in case the owner realised they'd dropped it and came back. *wonder if it's still there*

Fall colours and PUMPKINS!
It is October, after all.

After I dropped him off, I stopped at the LAST of the Season UMD Farmer's Market. Picked up some pears and purple(red) cabbage from Deb Shubat, when I noticed a bus pull up and that my old pal was the driver. I had to go say hello - it had been ages. As I approached the bus, it looked as if he had exited, I craned my neck to look around the bus, but then realised he was still inside, checking the bus for belongings and garbage, as always. He noticed me, opened the door, and we shared a long lost friend hug - the best kind. He said he'd like to stop by to visit, and I told him anytime. I'd love to have a chat with him, maybe share a meal too. Been way tooooo long.

Later that night, the phone rang and it was another Cruz; my old pal Art, from Vegas! How sweet! He called to talk about my upcoming trip with Sam and my visit. So nice to hear his voice and catch up as well.

So there, a Cruisy walk, and two Cruzs to boot!
