no pic, forgot :(
So far my totals are good for my little plot and being a first-time broccoli grower.
It feels good to be able to share fresh organic veggies with people in need.
The cabbages (see below) are coming along much better now, actually getting some heads forming, a few larger ones. I know next year I'll have to try a different location for them, but for my first time, they're doing ok. Still organic, but Peggy advised me that maybe some BT sprinkled on them to keep away the slugs. I'll have to look for some up at Gordy's or somewhere. Kinda late in the season for most garden supplies, but usually they always have things there I can find no where else.
Today my godchild turns 18. Unreal.
Today my bro n his wife celebrate 17yrs of marriage.
Time flies.
Pics from around the yard today (click to enlarge):
Nasturtiums I planted in late August recently started to bloom.
Looks like it has some vicious teeth!
Remember the Sunflower I rescued from the garage gutter?
Above you can see where the squirrel stole the original head, but then several new ones bloomed!
Take that squirrel!
Red Maple leaves in the pine shrubbery.
There was one really cute little red one, but it blew away by the time I retrieved the camera.

These turned out better than I'd hoped given how windy it was.
I love how many colours my little tree dresses in for autumn.

Speaking of cabbages...
Fireplace vines. Time to trim them back.
Last of the Pulmonaria, or Lung Wort
I need to move this somewhere so I don't lose it.
Asters!
Finally pulled that big chunk of branch off the garage.
Looks like a frown face w/a hole in his head.
See the lil frown?
Holdouts!
Halloween flowers? :P We'll see how long they survive.
Really late bloomers!
More Asters... Love these late bloomers too!
