Amante de Sol

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."........................................................... ~Hunter S. Twenty times Twenty

They're predicting tonight to be the coldest night of the year (so far).
Temps are expected to reach -40f.
And people wonder why I want to leave here for good.
After nearly 19 years of this up here, and over 40 in MN all together, is it really a wonder I'm done with the snow and cold?
I swear I was born into the wrong family sometimes.
I don't know why my parents stayed in MN, even after my dad was laid off.
Mom claims it was that us kids didn't want to move - but man, I'd have given anything my whole life to live in California, Florida, or anywhere warm that my friends would visit on vacation and brag about how awesome it was.

Today was cold enough as it was - just stopping to take photos or tank up on the petrol proved to be too many minutes outside my car, which never really seemed to get warm due to the winds as well. I've worn two shirts - one a fleece jacket, two pairs of pants, wool socks, slippers all day.

I am about to go crawl into my warm flannel-sheeted bed to finish my online business.

Anyway, here are some photos from today's venture out.
I went to meet HH at Gronks in Superior for burgers - OMFG YUM!
I will be revisiting that place for sure!

After lunch I called Columbia and arranged to send the jacket back, and was able to pick it out and the colour too. Black Embossed. Which will go with anything really, and be warmer too.

Signs of cold:
The boats are in port.
Frosty Tip
Lower Chester Creek Falls Frozen

Pure Crack - you could literally hear loud cracking of the ice

For Comparison

Where I'd rather be would be here, or ideally here.

A lil after 2a, a warm front came up from Fl and into mah box in the form of the Kev-man and his wii. ;-)
mmm thanks bub, I'll sleep warm.

Exericse:
Nothing.
(Unless you count shivering and tryin to stay warm when I was out of the house today)
Did the meditation though - I'm liking it.
Might look into some online Yoga exercises too.
