What a gorgeous first day!
I couldn't have asked for a better day off.
My only regret - not having someone to spend it with.
After sleeping in, I mucked about in the yard some, had a shower then went off to my dentist appointment.
I had two teeth to fix - one a broken filing, one a broken tooth. In an hour's time, all was done - although the bottom molar's filling feels a bit off - too high or not quite the right grooves carved in to match my bite. He tried twice as evidently after filling it the first time, it came apart whilst he worked on the upper broken tooth. It was so hard for me to bite down properly too as he had filled me full - overfilled even with novocaine and I really couldn't feel what I was doing as he had me bite over and over to get it right. I had felt as if half my head was numb just from the bottom shots alone, then he did the top as well - totally unnecessary IMHO - but, he's the dentist. I also feel as if at some point I must have bitten my tongue on that side as well - it's sore and so are the teeth, even though he really only drilled enough - not more than needed. Ah well. We'll see how it goes. I go back in August as the other back molar on the right bottom feels cracked or something when I chew.
After leaving the dentist's office, and reaching downtown, I decided to head over to the beach for a bit to check it out - waves wise as well as maybe have a sit in the sun whilst the numbness wore off vs going home and being tempted to eat before I could do so without drooling it all out the side of my mouth. As warm as the sun was, it was a bit chilly as the wind was right off the lake - but that didn't stop people and families with small children from being there and even swimming. There were also four surfers having a go at the waves which were coming fast. After taking a few shots, I had a walk down the beach and back, and also took some photos of the visiting ships.
I had only wished my surfer mate was there to photograph instead of strangers.Later at home I played more in the yard, watering plants, shooting at squirrels and chipmunks, and took a few more photos.
After, I ran some errands, then came home to eat - sketti and the leftover grilled vegetables from Sunday, as well as a slice of Popeye bread. I also had a chat online with my mate Wayne from WA (Western Australia - not Washington State) and gave him a webcam tour of the yard all in bloom. He was so in disbelief as the last tour he had the yard was deep in snow. "How can all that grow like that after all that snow?" I laughed. I love showing my yard during the seasons to my mates in Australia - they really can appreciate the contrast.I also was skunked! (well nearly) as I had a most hilarious chat with my mate about tomorrow's games.
