Amante de Sol

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."........................................................... ~Hunter S. It's Like It Never Changed.

So after picking berries and sorting the morning, I took a run downtown to see if my checks were there and to scan a few pics as I have my scanner at work. Then around 1p I ran across the street to the Greenery for a lil brunch (brekky) treat. I just missed the opportunity to grab a bagel or some decadent croissant or scone as they close at 1p. *sigh* So I grabbed a Reader and then on my way out to the car, the Trolley pulls up with my fave driver behind the wheel. I stopped to say hi and ended up riding for a bit catching up. It was very nice, even had me playing tour guide to a couple from Florida, and another woman as she boarded handing me her money for her and her children's fares as if I was the conductor collecting fares. LOL. The driver had a big laugh out of this. Too funny. Mebbe I should have kept it as my tip for being an exemplary tour guide!

As per usual the ride had many interesting people from both out of town and here in Duluth. I always enjoy the eclectic bunch that make up the riders of the Sunday Trolley. The highlight of my Summer '09 Staycation.

On my way downtown heading down Mesabi Avenue, I looked out on the lake and noticed this bank of fog rolling towards the ship parked out in the bay area. I had thought we were doomed and the fog would roll right on into the Canal Park and Downtown areas. It never did. It was as if that ship was the barrier that the fog could not penetrate and was held at bay. YAY!

All in all it was a gorgeous day, good to catch up with my mate and hear the stories of the past week as well as the past in general, and share laughter and a couple of hugs as well. Priceless.

Wishing you all the same sort of day.
Cheers!
