Amante de Sol

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."........................................................... ~Hunter S. These Hardly Do Justice

The Non-Panoramic Panorama
It was just such a beautiful night horizon and sky, I had to snap a few shots when I hit the parking lot in the Plaza area just minutes after sunset (7:59p). Looking back, I wished I had made a video instead as it would have been so cool to capture more of the colourful sunset sky.

That fog bank has rolled in daily and sometimes it only seems to be as wide as up to the ship, where as this evening it stretched over Park Point and into the Bay area. On the bus ride after work the scope of this bank could be seen so clearly in the late afternoon sun. It was so beautiful, but since I was riding a bus, not the most opportune time for taking pics. As my driver would say, "For your eyes only." (His definition of when you see something, and are unable to capture it to share with others. He used this when I told him of the great numbers of Hummingbirds I failed to photograph and have gone back since in hopes to capture them, but only seeing one, or none.) Indeed it was there for all of those who happened to really take a look out the windows of the bus, basically he and I, as far as I could tell - the rest of the riders seemed oblivious to anything beyond their bus ride experience.

There are times when I ride the bus with him that I wish there were no others about, and often times, it feels as if this is the case as we pretty much converse and are imersed in our own world of observances. My wish is that I could have these experiences with him outside of the bus, so he wouldn't have to be working, and we could talk more freely and not have the distractions of the other riders and stops as there is never really a lack of topics of interest or views noticed to share.

**Update**

Overnight or early this morning 27-8-09 the fog had rolled over the ship and up into the hillside. As I rode the bus down 6th Ave E by the time we reached 4th St, we were driving into the fog. The ship had lost it's imaginary battle. It has since burned off and rolled back beyond the ship toward the Wisconsin side of the lake. Sometimes this camera pans and you can see for yourself.
