Amante de Sol

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."........................................................... ~Hunter S. The Air Smelled Like Fall

As I was working out in the yard this evening and it got darker, the air cooled even more so and there for a moment as I rounded the side of the house I caught a whiff of that fall-like air.
Ohnoes!
Not yet!
It's only just past mid-August ffs.
The day was gorgeous.
73f (23c) on the bank clock at 3:15p
I spent my breaks outside in the sun reading.
After work I came straight home, (no bus ride chat or walk) and sat in the sun on the deck til just about 6p.
My mate Proud was online and we had a long chat as I sun baked in the last of the afternoon sun.
Then I came inside and cooked up a tuna steak in my fave cast iron pan, some fresh green beans and a little bit of yesterday's leftover pasta.
Yum!
Just as I sat down to eat it started to rain.
Those big drops - but not enough to cover the deck before it stopped and the sun came back out. That was my cue to get my butt out there and pick my much neglected raspberries.
I ended up with 2-3 cups all told.
More had been slightly bug eaten - but only about 20 or so and a few were so ripe they hit the ground as I disturbed the stalks.
Then to pick the cherry tomatoes - three all told.
The beefy tomatoes yielded six, varying in size from golf ball to about baseball size, and that particular plant only has about five more to ripen before it's completely done.
The pot on the deck that has the other beefy plant has two large green ones on it and several flowers. I moved this pot out into the yard by the glider so it could get more day sun as the deck really isn't in the sun til about Noon.
There were a few jalapenos on the one bush that had turned red and one salsa pepper ready as well.
Not bad for a day's harvest.
Lookin like it'll be time to make a batch of salsa soon.
After some weeding and dead-heading of some of the flowers it was time to head inside.

Out behind the compost bin I found this new bloom.
