Amante de Sol

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."........................................................... ~Hunter S. The Third

Today was the Third, and my day and my views came in many threes.

I work in a closed room, supervising a Help Desk.
No windows.
White walls.
Three guys and me.
Every day.
Every weekend.
For three months.
Today was only the third weekend out of thirteen.

Yesterday was really nice.
Today was absolutely gorgeous.
This weekend was the first nice one.
It killed me.

Knowing it was nice out, and gonna be nicer out than it has for ages,
as well as will be with the exception of tomorrow.
(which is predicted nicer - the rest of the week rain and storms.)

It made me ache.

Ache for the Sun.
Ache for the Freedom.
Ache for the Activities.

Then there were three others.
All with their own issues.
Each one different, yet alike.
It feels good to be their friend.
I wish I could hug them all.
For very different reasons.
Yet they all need it.
And so do i.
<3 to all of you!

And now for something completely different.
The views.

For my lunch break.
A whoppin whole thirty minutes of time away from the 'cave' as we call it.
I walked up to Superior Street, planning on a brisk walk.
What I forgot about was, the wind.
Now on a normal day, the wind would be no issue to me.
But today, I was wearing a skirt.
Now that may not seem like such a big deal,
but it was a bit short.
So yeah.

I then spotted a bench.
A bench in the Sun.
HOORAY!
With my headset playin in my ears,
Camera ready,
(well I thought so til messing with the settings "exhausted" my batteries.)
Phone in pocket.
I headed straight for that Oasis in the Sun.
My views from said bench are as follows:

First.
To the left.
Looking East on Superior Street.
(note the time, 1:52p-break over at 2p. Temp was like 60-something. A heat wave for us.)
A burst of traffic came just then!

Second.
Directly in the center:
Fire Truck!
Pretty good shot from a mobile phone with only half battery life, of a moving vehicle I reckon.
*nods congratulating self*

Third.
Looking to the right (West) on Superior Street from said bench.
The Sun, the Flag, the Library. As I sat there, heaps of people (for a Sunday arvo anyway) passed by.
Men and women on motorcycles. (approx 5-6)
Two guys on bicycles.
One kept turning back to look at me, as if he knew me or mebbe never saw an old chick in a skirt on a bench downtown. *shrugs*
One of which had a mobile phone on speaker and was loudly broadcasting some woman all down the block as he rode. She was sounding pretty, bleh. I wondered if she knew she was on speaker and being broadcast all over his Duluth ride.

Three Native American males.
One lookin a bit scary. Not like he scared me, but like..he was ill or something.
One indifferent, plodding along.
One said, "Hello" and smiled. He had really nice wavey hair and seemed in a hurry.

Three women.
One a youngish looking - say early twenty-something, who passed several times actually.
To the point that if I didn't know any better, I'd have thought she was lookin for some 'action' or 'something' - ya know?
The other was older, much older, with a walker.
She headed straight for the bus stop.
One inbetween age-wise, walking a dog. She smiled.

Tonight, when I finally got home, I remembered the Suns.
Here is one for today, hanging on my deck, near the lilacs.
