Amante de Sol

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."........................................................... ~Hunter S. ¡El Sol ha vuelto!

The Sun has returned!
(it's been obscured by clouds since last friday...)
YAY!
Ok so this is when it first peeked through the clouds a little after 1p
Later it became very sunny, only I didn't think to snap another pic. Oops.
On my walk downtown I noticed this lady's flowers were still going,
inspite of the recent winter storm and cold temps.
Her balcony is the only one that looks homey.
Here is a shot of the whole complex to show just how blah the rest of the units are.
Her's is the upper right corner unit. It was so lively with colour all summer.
It always made me smile on my walk to work.

Today I met up with Tomas and Leeeeenda from my old job for a nice lunch at Amazing Grace.
We hadn't gotten together for a few weeks and it was nice to see them both, and have a really amazing lunch. I had Karen's African Peanut Soup and a half sandwich. OMG was that soup good. It had all sorts of vegetables and peanuts in a nice slightly curry flavoured broth. YUM!
For dessert I treated myself to a piece of carrot cake - figuring I never did have any birthday cake back in August, and, because we hadn't gone for lunch in so long and I hadn't spent that money on myself. Lunch wasn't cheap, but it sure was delicious.

Last night on the local news Amazing Grace had been featured for their "Green" efforts. I really enjoyed having lunch in a restaurant which takes this seriously and really tries to keep the ingredients local, as well as recycle or reuse items, helping to reduce their carbon footprint.
