So. Sunday.
I woke early, and had an offline message from an Aussie mate checkin up on me. I swear, I really love my mates - it's so nice to have people from so far away care so much, and some of them are people who I haven't even met in person *yet* Some I have cammed/voice with, so it's not as if we are strangers or only text/email. I prefer one-on-one convos, be it in person or phone best. Video chat would be next, and IM would be last, but at least more interactive than email alone.
Anyway. I ended up drifting in and out of sleep from 5-930am, finally getting up closer to 10 and mixed up some Banana bread for my son and a mate who was to stop by later in the arvo as I know he likes sweet treats to go with his morning coffee. The boy loved that he woke to the smell of baked bread, and then to a bacon egg brekky after his shower. I really like being able to do those things for them, as they always show appreciation by way of thanks or a hug. I'll take either one, but was in a huge hug deficit and collected several today - I win!

After the boy was sorted, I decided to head to the shops for the missing soup ingredients and to replace my laundry soap and softener he took with him. When I got down there I decided to head down to the Lakewalk for a bit to see if anything was still going on, and check out the Rose Garden as well.

The colours and scents were spectacular!
This is another time I really missed my digital as the rose that looks so white,(blown out) it was lightish pink, then rimmed in that darker pink
and was gorgeous, but the mobile's cam blew out the shot. *sigh*
The orange rose in this shot was another exceptional bloommy mobile couldn't quite capture to my liking.
I did walk as far as the stage in the park,
but decided that since there wasn't anything going on there, I really wanted to get my shopping done and take care of some stuff at home versus walking all the way to Fitgers or Canal Park. Mebbe next year eh. The fog coming in off the lake made the park and stage look erie cool.Again, my mobile didn't do it justice.
Yup, still there.
I ended up coming back and setting outside in the sun for a time, talking with a long-time mate who was celebrating his 25th birthday, and feeling a bit melancholy over turning that age, as well as over a recently ended relationship. Poor bugga.
Then it was time to start my soup.
It turned out really good - like I had any doubts.
