Amante de Sol

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."........................................................... ~Hunter S. Last Day of September

Walking home from the bus I found this one leaf directly in my path.
As I walked along further, the branch I had noticed earlier in the week lying in the boulevard about a block from my house was still there as well. No one had bothered to pick it up. That was it, I'm having it. (as I am always picking up wood for my fires.) So in one hand I carried my bag and the leaf, the other dragging the branch behind me as I walked. I kind of laughed to myself about how silly I must look - like a kid almost, my hands full, dragging the branch, wearing a short-ish summer skirt and tennis shoes bare-legged when the weather had gone cooler as the afternoon progressed. The look on some of the drivers passing me at the corner to cross to my alley said it all. Maybe it gave them a giggle.

I guess feeling kid-like on a crisp Autumn afternoon on the last day of September isn't a bad thing.
