Amante de Sol

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."........................................................... ~Hunter S. 85 and Sunny!

I left work early due to a headache I woke up with, but couldn't help resist taking a run past the beach for a few pics before heading home. It was hot, and I had wished that in my car were some beach supplies as I was in my work clothes, and would have loved a nap on the beach. (I just know that would've cured me.)

(Looking left down the beach towards Wisconsin - and yes, people can actually swim in this big cold lake at times.
Usually when the surface water blows in and then it can become quite warm.)

(Looking right, the city of Duluth in the background.)

After resting my head some, then having a bite to eat, it was time to do some more weeding. I also uncovered buried between the current bush and the raspberry area my purple plant (of which I forget the name and the tag was missing as well) and decided to move it to a spot on the side of the garage where I had a huge pile of bricks. After moving them to the stairs for now, I transplanted the plant then added for some colour the leftover petunias and pansies. (for now anyway as they needed to be planted as they were quite root bound) I moved my sun as well to help hold it back against the wall.

(yes I know I need to scrape and paint, but I kinda like that rustic look there for now)(straight back behind in the corner by the lattice fence was where I rescued it from.
Ha! for fun, look back to my post on the 6th of May and see how much difference a month and a half's time makes in growth!)

Here is a shot of the plant in bloom last fall.
Anyone know the name? *brainfart*
(click the photo to enlarge)
(sideview...next where to play with all those bricks...hmmmm.)

Then I started in weeding back here below the feeders, but it's grown in thicker and going to take a fair bit of pulling or tilling perhaps to really get the grass and weeds out. I need to trim that Mugo pine as well. That pathetic bush has always grown funny *shrugs* ah well. I want to really be able to see that hidden hosta on the left of it as well as the one on the right. I have stepping stones in there from the river as well. (somewhere...lol) The ferns are filling in nicely though.
This last shot is of my Black-Eyed Susan - which is really starting to wind around a dowel and a find of a couple of bent paperclips someone made at the office and discarded, Parsley and Lemon Basil on a corner shelf on the deck.

Later:
I had to run an errand late and drivng into the sunset the moon was just a slight sliver.
After shopping I couldn't resist taking a shot.

What a gorgeous night!

Cheers!
