Amante de Sol

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."........................................................... ~Hunter S. Duluth Flood 2012

Seems the City is a bit of a Disaster.

I received a text this morning shortly after arriving at work:
"You are so lucky to be out of Duluth. Have you heard if your house is OK?"

Um, ok. So I rang my friend up to find out what happened - a fire? tornado? lightning strike?

NO!
A FLOOD!
And not just some heavy rain and swampy backyards, but a pretty major catastrophe for the City of Duluth and some surrounding areas.
Of course, I immediately sent a text to my daughter to find out the house situation, and we were one of the lucky ones, just a small bit of water in the basement bathroom - a wet throw rug. That was it.
Thankfully!
It certainly is hard to be away from Duluth as I watch the videos, view the surreal photos, while receiving texts and emails from family and friends back home.

And the Photography Opportunities!
Luckily, my daughter and scores of other Duluthians have taken to recording this event for all of us:
