Friday the 11 Mar.
It's my mate Tim's birthday.
I had a chat with him online earlier in the day (our Thursday - his Friday)
and was able to wish him all the best for his day.
Later, whilst chatting online, the earthquake occurred and the tsunami ensued.
So devastating and sur(un)real - gotta love the media and how fast we see
these things reported or posted as they play out.
Needless to say, I stayed up late watching reports with mates.
I was so relieved that my good NZ friend Danielle wasn't living or visiting Tokyo anymore, nor that she wasn't from Christchurch when that quake occurred.
I'm not gonna post any pics or vids, you can search them yourselves.
I will, however, link you to the scientific data.
Try not to cringe at the polititicans and various media idiot's inane comments you hear as they report or recap the events as they played out. I fuckin shake my head in disgust.
Sometimes I wish I wasn't from this country, they're so embarrassing.
Do they think?
Do they even read what they are saying, or is it all ad-libed and are their station managers cringing as well? Fuckin dumbasses.
**Edit**
Too funny as when visiting with Kev this evening, he reiterated these same sentiments.
That boy is in my head sometimes, I swear.
Queue Twilight Zone theme.
In regards to The Ring of Fire, I leave you with this little gem:
"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."........................................................... ~Hunter S.
