Amante de Sol

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."........................................................... ~Hunter S. Other Stuff

My pals flew me to the bus stop today for the first time in a couple of months

It's been an interesting news day so far:

First with Cyclone Yasi making landfall in Northern Queensland where several of my mates live - between Mackay and Cairns. Keep them in your thoughts. There's been so much terrible weather and flooding there already too. I sincerely hope they're all ok.
**UPDATE** 435p CST: Received a text from Kirrilee - they're all good where she's at (Mackay). It was a bit more north of here as seen here:
My mate Tony sent this link about how the size of Yasi compares around the world.
He also sent this slide show of some of the damage.

Then came the announcement that the White Stripes will no longer be touring or recording new music. sadness.

Next, if you've opened Google today, you've noticed their new Art Project linking the world's museums. Kind of a cool idea for those who love art, and may never get to these places - so it's affordable, but also in a way, adding to the reasons to not go (or leave the house?) - as you can virtually travel there.

I have a feeling there's gonna be more.
Stay tuned...

Sure enough, here's this little gem:

Went to the library today and on the way, these red shoes caught my eye:Here's to the girl,
who wears the red shoes,
smokes my cigars, and drinks my booze
She's lost her cherry but that's no sin.
She's got the box that the cherry came in.
