Amante de Sol

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."........................................................... ~Hunter S. Twenty Seven

So I come home from work and heading out for a walk with George I notice my poor Flowering Plum (from a start from my Dad a few years ago) has been attacked by the rabbit(s?)! Bastard!I got some of that paint tar and tree wrap and did my best to paint the wounds in spite of the temperatures. It will take time to dry, and it's not the best job - but will help until the weather is more cooperative to sort it out better. Some of the damage I had painted black before remembering to take some photos for documentation - I wonder how much will survive the girdling damage caused. A couple of online sites I consulted didn't sound very postitive. Grrrr!

Finally, I wrapped it up first each branch individually - for the most part - then kinda mummy wrapped the whole thing so as to really discourage/hamper the bare spots. It's about 1-2 ft high up from the base. Then I dug out the snow around, leaving some to cover the trunk - but so the rabbit couldn't just sit there and go at my poor tree buffet-style. I bought some ground cloves and garlic powder to sprinkle around as well - as those were two of the main ingredients in the rodent/rabbit pest products at Gordy's Farm Market where I found the other supplies this time of year - thankfully they had some left - most places I called will have nothing until spring. *sigh*

Fucking Rabbit.
Is Toast.
The gun is readied.
