Amante de Sol

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."........................................................... ~Hunter S. Comp II & Biology Day (Farmer's Market too!)

Up early (5:20a) as I couldn't sleep.
Worked on my Explication paper finishing around 9:30a

Went to the Farmer's Market and picked up:
6 Jalapeños,
1 bunch of Cilantro,
20 Tomatillos,
3 Rutabagas,
1 chunk of Hubbard Squash,
3 Green Tomatoes,
1 Head of Cabbage,
2 Veggie Pasties,
A Raspberry Muffin (for today's brekky)
A Caramel Roll (for Sunday's brekky)

I love going to the Market on Saturdays. (Wed's too when I can)
They have the wood burning stove going.
There are so many vendors.
AND...Yummy Samples!
At Marilyn's table she had this sliced stuff on a platter, I thought it was pear or apple.
It was rutabaga...before I knew I took a piece to try and YUM, kinda bitey like radish, and crunchy. I had never ever tried it. Mom never made it. I'll have to tell her to get some. It was really good raw. Marilyn said she puts it in her meat pasties, but I always buy the veggie.
Anyway, I am a convert, I really like them. I'll have to buy more to put away in the pantry for wintah. Thanks Marilyn!
(Incidentally, Marilyn is the one who makes the awesome muffins and rolls too.)

From the market, I next visited the grocery store and picked up some bananas, juice, Good and Garlic pizzas, and a few other odds and ends. Checking the meat section, I found some pork chops on sale cheap ($1.49lb) and grabbed a cheap package.
Now I was set.
Chile Verde con Cerdo was on my mind.
Won't have time to make it today, I have to study for the Biology exam.
Perhaps Sunday or Monday.

The rest of my day/night was spent studying for the exam.
I had 4 chapters and labs to review.
Ugh.
Way to much science of cells and cell function.
Where was the fun stuff from the previous chapters?

Anyway, that's all I have for today.
Back to study, then sleep.

¡Abrazos!
