Amante de Sol

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."........................................................... ~Hunter S. Shots of the Day & The New Kids On The Block

Worked at my old job for a change today as the receptionist/admin assistant. Upon opening this morning I nostalgically went to peek out my old office window and discovered this wolf spider web. At that time, the spider was right in the center of the web - but I was called away by the phone and hadn't finished opening yet. Later in the afternoon, the sunlight caught the web and I couldn't resist capturing a shot, even though it's creator was no where to be seen.
Funny thing, looking at this photo - the center of the web, actually pinpoints where I am standing in the window to take this photo as my office window is reflected in the windows across the street at the Holiday Inn. (Impressive without even trying!)
Then I captured this photo of the sky reflected on the windows of the Holiday Inn across the street. I thought it made for a cool shot. I am in the center brick office building in the right side window. My bosses office is the one with all the papers/junk against the window on the left.

Playing with my 10X Zoom

One Big Berry
I couldn't decide which I liked best, so I posted them both. Enjoy!
Still zooming - All at once the Black Capped Chickadee's came in a group of 5-6 and I had to run and grab the camera off the dining room table. The rest of his pals flew up into my big maple, but this guy stayed behind to sample some seed. I was glad to see they haven't all been devoured yet by those screechy birds - but I don't think this group were any of my old 'pals' as these did not come to sit or play around the deck with the bowl of black-oiled sunflower seed as the others had - nor did they play much around the water dish on the deck corner - which the others always did. Ah well. Glad to have them back.
This hosta bloomed today!
A bee on the Yarrow
My old garage and the aging birdhouse an old volleyball teammate's father made.
Momma, heading back out for more food to feed the new kids.
Here she is - keeping a watchful eye on me from the far fence as I was too near her nest and she wanted to return to feed them the bug in her mouth. I am hoping she is chowing down on all the earwigs that have recently appeared. Or the newly hatched mosquitos. Yay!
Why do I feel like...some body's watching me?
Chill and let me take a shot of those fuzzy bubs of yours momma.

Ooo here's one now. Although, I hear more than one chirp coming from the house.
I swear this guy was a model for a muppet with that look!
Three! Count 'em! Three Beaks! One, Two, Three! Three Beautiful Beaks!
Ah! ha ha ha haaaa!
(I so love my zoom and flash)
Shh...there she is again with that thing that flashes...duck!
Camera Hams!
I wanna be a rock star!
(I have the hairdo for it!)

Oh and at the end of my workday - as I waited for the bus at the library, the old crabby troll who hated on me and the people celebrating el día de los muertos last fall and complained to my bus driver mate, showed up and just GLARED at me. I laughed and pulled out my mobile then snapped his picture in profile. He is built a bit like that silhouette of Alfred Hitchcock, hence me giving him that infamous bus nick from now on. (Click the link to see his pic I added to that post.)

I then sent a text to my mate, sharing that bit of hilarity. Hope he is well as he travels to and from St Paul to have a few relaxing days off and celebrate the World Cup 2010 festivities with his family and friends.

Cheers!
