Once again when I wasn't lookin (most likely I was at work), that nasty plow came by depositing chunks of snow and ice boulders from up the street into my footpath, the stairs to the street and along the length of the footpath out the front as well as down my alley and into my parking area.
It doesn't look like much here, until after I removed the smaller boulder in front of it. That smaller boulder was very heavy even thought it looks small-ish, the weight is great.
Another angle, showing the debris left along the footpath I had to clean up so as not to be fined.
Along the garage lip to the parking area and beyond to the neighbours. I realise it doesn't look like much, but it had been a bit warm during the day so it melded together and I had to chop it up before I could simply shovel it out of the way. Part of it I shoveled and tossed backward and across the alley behind me as there is a limited amount of space to the opposite of my garage.
(The snow and ice ridge here doesn't look like much, but this weekend we're expected to get from 2-12 inches of wet snow, and/or freezing rain and this would then either be buried or become more solidified making it impossible to remove.)

Once just once, I'd like them to go in the opposite direction and deliver all of this mess to someone more deserving up the street. HA!
As if.
I also knew it had to be done and soon as there is freezing rain, snow and more predicted for Friday, Saturday and possibly Sunday. If I let it go, it would probably have turned into a glazed_cemented_into_place_forever bunch of ice ridges and mountains to sit til temps become unseasonably warm again, and severely decreasing my parking area as well as adding to the treachery of the front walkway for myself and others. Plus it's a drag to drive over when trying to park next to my garage as it scrapes the undercarriage of the car and sounds horrendous.
After chopping and trying to find somewhere to throw the ice boulders without A) hurting my shoulder more from the chopping motion, and B) throwing heavy rock-like pieces higher than my shoulder strength allowed, I was left with one monolithic piece which was so icy hard I was unable to chop it into smaller pieces, so I left it and went in to do a little homework and get ready for volleyball.
On the way home from volleyball it came to me.
"A lever and fulcrum!"
"Yes, that's it!"
"Eureka!"
After tossing my gear into the house and grabbing the garden chopper, I went out and chopped along the sides of the boulder, loosening it somewhat in it's place. Further chopping into it underneath a little from it's place on my top step, I felt it give way even more. Now I merely shoved the chopper under as far as I could and went with the fulcrum action using a smaller ice chunk, at first rocking some as it was just that heavy and large. The third time I rocked it with one last blast of my strength, toppling it into the street.
The gianormous boulder in the street afterwards.
My walkway to the street, cleared! yay!
Another view of the boulder in the street.
Boulder and walkway viewed from the street side Thurs night.
YAY! I WIN!
F-YOU PLOW!
F-YOU GIANORMOUS ICE BOULDER!
I then had to sort of roll it to the side so as to not block parking and in a way, it now serves as a marker to my sidewalk. Perhaps I should spray paint my address or some nice welcome message onto it's face.
Friday after work I took a day shot with my book bag lying at the base of the boulder for size reference. That bag can hold a 17in laptop, but is currently filled with my course books.
