Amante de Sol

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."........................................................... ~Hunter S. Once In A Blue Moon New Year's Eve

The last one was in...1990

Some countries experienced a Blue Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse
(be sure to check out the links for 'more Orange Moon shots' in the article)

The next one will be in 2028

Man, 19 years from now, I'll be old.
Whoa! My kids will be nearly my age now.
And my parents will be really old.
Sheesh.

Ok that was enough reflection for me on this last day of 2009.

Onto the Moon's reflection. I managed to 'sort of' capture it tonight on my long ride with my mate and then again later up at the Coppertop Church. I didn't have my tripod with me and it was windy and freezing! (below zero + windchill) Humour me. Take them for the fun and spirit they were intended to be.

The best, biggest and brightest moon was not captured tonight on film or digitally, it was captured by the naked eye. Just above the lake, with a few sparse clouds drifting through, on a bus ride home, witnessed by only two and acknowledged mutually through just a look and a nod. One I will never forget and always remember that it was shared with you, and only you at that very moment. Remember what we said? Until 2028 when we gaze at the sky at precisely the same time and see it again. A very nice thought.

They aren't the best shots, as I am still very new to this camera and the settings to capture the moon, and the cold/wind high on the hill shook the tripod some. I'll work on it, but it was fun trying!
