Amante de Sol

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."........................................................... ~Hunter S. The last sunset of October and of days before the sun sets early.

The time is due to change tonight; fall rolling back the clocks. Coming back from the mall, looking out over and beyond the mall I noticed that the sun was in set mode - just a thin sliver of light appeared between the horizon and the heavy grey clouds. Evidently these clouds were moving away as the bus moved down the hill from Mesabi Ave to 6th Ave E the sky over the lake was blue and the land across pink from the sun as well as the buildings in the bay area and Superior - the Refinery especially, were all lit up from the setting sun. IT was SPECTACULAR! Especially after a mainly grey day. I remarked to my driver friend that I wish I had my camera - or A camera to be able to capture the beauty. He replied that this was one of those "for your eyes only" moments that occur sometimes. Then he went further to day that he bet that we were the only two on the bus to even take notice of this sight.

I did manage to take these two shots after getting off the bus on my walk home before the sun set so far that the pink left the sky. I wish I would have had the presence of mind to take a shot further up the hill when you could see more of the bay area and towards Wisconsin all lit up.

*sigh*

Last Day of the Farmer's Market.
That wood stove sure smelled good and was quite toasty too!
Well it really marks the end of summer and fall when comes the last day of the Farmer's Market. Waking around 9a I realised I best get my butt in gear and get down there so as not to miss any of the good veggies that are often gone if you arrive later. I made sure to buy something from nearly each vendor that was left this last day. Most had their last weeks in the past two as their garden offerings of certain veggies or plants were done for the season. Still, I came away with a few tomatoes, mint, apples, pasties, caramel rolls, peppers, squash, and a pie pumpkin.

Some musicians came to play as well. One dressed as Frodo and the other as Gandalf.

Happy Halloween!
