Amante de Sol

"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."........................................................... ~Hunter S. One.Nine.Two Zero Zero Nine

OK. *breathes*
So, I survived the end of August.
(Just Barely!)
(seriously)

Sleeping well, warm and quite comfortably helped,
just not long enough (fell asleep late, woke too early)
so much so I was tempted to call in and ride in on the 9a bus.
I need the money more than sleep so like a trooper I got up as the second snooze went off. I was glad I did as the sunrise ride to work was just as spectacular as yesterday's and that gave me hope. That and the fact the weatherman promised a gorgeous day of sun and 74 degree temps.
(although on the bank clocks the highest I noticed was 70 - guess that will have to do)

I snuck off at lunch and walked along Michigan Street to check out a storefront a friend had told me about just below the Electric Fetus, where a surfer mate of his is working on opening a restaurant. The name on the door was GoodPeople, and as I peeked inside, it looked promising, but still has a way to go before it opens.
Next door was a vacant storefront of similar size and design - I mentioned to him this would make a perfect gallery. The idea of two mates next door to each other drawing new clientele to that area is so cool. What I liked most was after showing him the photos of the space, he seemed to really like the idea and the cogs were a-turning...you could just see it! I hope there is something there for him as after all that has gone on lately - something new and adventurous where it could be beneficial to him as well - it would be awesome. He gets this gleam in his eyes that is priceless! I just love seeing people so excited or infused with ideas and hope.

I was one of those people today.
Yesterday, I was a bit blue, then today new hope came in the idea of going back to school.
Well technically, this didn't just start today - but last Friday.
Today there were just some new events that helped shape my future as well as clinch this idea,
and help to sort further my decision.
(more on this later)

Today I was downright cocky and full of myself at work.

I did feel better.

After checking out the storefront, I walked up the nearby steps that lead to the Lake Walk Park.
Once there, I just went over to the bit that juts out and overlooks the beach area.
There were many people out walking, biking and one even flying a kite - all enjoying this very first day of September's warmth and sunshine. After work, a catch up ride, then a screamer ride home, then home to light the grill
(which for some reason took some doing - but no worries, the pyro in me won!)
I grilled Chicken and Fresh Ocean Perch, as well as Patty Pan Squash, and Corn on the Cob.
I also warmed some red potatoes and beets, making for a very nice meal.
And to compliment, a Sierra Nevada Anniversary Ale.

Now am just sat here with the leftover coals havin a fire. Ahhhhhhh.

C'mon ova!
