Mother's Day.
I was out of town with my offspring for the day.
We watched the Twins play - they lost, but it was a good game.
Being with them was best of all.
It happens less and less with all of our busy schedules.
It happens less and less with all of our busy schedules.
Afterwards we surprised my mom (and dad) with a visit as well.
Lotsa hugs all around!
Just when I think I am in a hug deficit, I get one or several.
Amazing how those rejuvinate you.
Having a part of a weekend off for a change was nice after a month of working every day straight. (That may end sooner than expected as well - I kinda hope so.)
As the days get nicer and lighter longer, it's really hard to be there on the weekends.
Evenings aren't so bad, as I could be working days and not being able to take any advantage of the sun and warmer temps, but my body clock is all askew trying to go between those hours and also putting in some day shifts at my old job to pay these tax bills.
*sigh*
Today I mowed, setting the neighbourhood precedence. heh heh
First I had to rake a ton of tar patch out of my boulevard grass.
Stooooopid city of Duluth. For 17 years I've lived here they come round in the fall, right at the very end before the first snow and half-assed shovel some bitumen patch in the plethora of potholes in the cement.
No wonder this city's got so many money issues when they carry on this lame-brained attempt at road repair over years and years and not in my neighbourhood alone.
Now City Leader's other bright idea (with no money in their budget) is to send 1-2 people to Sweden as they've discovered that Sweden is a very green country and we 'need' to send people there to observe why. Idiots. So use the internet, and make some phone calls. Save the airfare and hotels and expenses of sending two people on an International trip. (Gee, I wonder who gets to go.) What about studying one of the many green cities in the U.S.? Naw...that'd be way too easy and cheaper. They must waste more money they don't have. Again.
Tonight during my work break, I walked down the block and sat in the evening sun.
It was so nice and warm for a change.
I took the pic below of the sun
(not the greatest shot, as it looks a bit darkish since I took the pic right into the sun, but it really didn't turn out bad for my old mobile cam.)
Since I missed posting a Sun pic yesterday, today I am posting two. These two are indoor suns as I forgot to take some outdoor pics today. They are some of my faves and both grace my mantle ~ fireplace area.
